Use These Tips to Make Email Marketing Work?

Email marketing is labeled as a killer method when it comes to effective low-cost Internet marketing endeavors. This is because it is the most widely-used and has the best reputation in bringing targeted traffic to websites. It is used to stay in touch with your customers or prospective customers, send out invitations, or make special offers.

It’s as easy as writing an email that may be in a form of a newsletter or a plain announcement, and sending that to as many targeted recipients as possible. However, there’s an ideal way of going about it. Email marketing is not just about writing any email that you will be sending to anybody. To clarify that, here are some simple tips in doing email marketing the best way possible.

1. Join the “Can Spam” campaign.

Email marketing is not at any rate tantamount to spamming. You are not supposed to send information that your email list will not have any valuable use for.

2. Make your email list open it.

Your email might get lost together with the hundreds of emails that inbox owners are confronted with everyday. Improve your subject line by using extra white space creatively, adding text symbols, starting each word with a capital letter, asking compelling questions, not making any unbelievable claims, and not using the word FREE.

3. Keep it real.

Not including any too good to be true statements is not only applicable to your subject line. Your email content must never embody any promise your business can’t keep. Make your offer genuinely of value to your recipients.

4. Don’t go too low.

If you inform your customers regarding discounts, minimal discounts are not that effective compared with substantial discounts. But never offer discounts that are lower than your profit. It will defeat the purpose of this email marketing effort.

5. Make it eventful.

It’s not about contradicting the advice that you should keep an email short and sweet. This tip is on including seminars, conferences and other events in your email. Businesses that require training, benefit much from this method. With these RSVP-requiring emails, repetition is important. Just make sure that an ample interval is considered before sending out a reminder email.

6. Post news.

Sending newsletters and postcards provides useful information for your subscribers. These are the best forms of reaching out to your customers or prospects. You should keep the information short, simple and direct to the point for this feat to be effective.

With these simple ways of going about your email marketing endeavor, your business will prosper in no time.

Another Way to Increase Traffic to Your Site

The first thing you need to do is to join one of the many blog networks. Within a blog network you are able to share links with other bloggers under the “network” umbrella.

Just suppose that I, as an internet marketer, wrote a post about someone else’s blog post on the network about the same niche, and I added their link. I will then ask them to add my link to their post. This is called backlinking and the purpose is to get traffic moving between the blogs to improve search engine rankings, which is achieved because of the increase in backlinks.

Just remember that all blog networks are not the same and one of the easier ones to join and be a part of is Networked Blogs . There are many others to choose from and they all offer different ways to expose your blog. You need to increase traffic by expanding your audience, and increase your search engine rankings. By giving back to the blog community you are showing that you are there for more than leeching traffic.

When you first become a member of a blog network, you will get direct traffic from other members checking you out and creating awareness for your blog. The more people read your blog the better your chances are of backlinking to their blog and vice versa.

Other people’s blogs are an effective way for you to attract more traffic to your blog. Once you join a blog network, you immediately become a member of a blogging club, whose members are willing to share their passions and ideas to help with the growth of all blogs.

You are the person who controls your blog, but you want to have your words heard by others in as many places as you can, by opening up communication channels.

A blog network can do that for you. You may write something in your blog which will pique the interest of others and compel them to write something about your words, and then pass it on to other bloggers. This will only happen if you are writing about something that will make them take notice.

The greatest thing you can do as a blogger is to participate within the blogging community, making others aware of you are and what you are about, to increase your exposure.

We all want to increase traffic to our blogs, so by choosing to become a member of a blog network, you can be rest assured that by participating you will increase awareness, which in turn increases traffic.

Blog Traffic for Beginners

An excerpt from the sales page for Blog Traffic for Beginners by Yaro Starak

Why Do So Many Blogs Struggle To Attract Even 100 Visitors, Yet A Few Elite Bloggers Enjoy Almost All The Attention?

Let me reveal how you can become one of the
top bloggers in your field…

Hello, my name is Yaro; I founded the blog Entrepreneurs-Journey.com in 2005.

Since I began blogging I have made over a million dollars thanks to advertising, affiliate marketing and selling my own training products all from my blog.

That sounds pretty impressive, right?

Well, here’s the thing…

It didn’t happen overnight.

When I first started I was just like you – in a situation where you have no readers coming to your blog.

It’s a challenging time for a new blogger because you publish content in an “echo chamber” where almost no one reads what you write.

Perhaps your family read your blog, maybe some friends – but you definitely do not have enough of an audience to actuallymake money with your blog.

Blogs Can Only Make Money If They Have Traffic

This might be stating the obvious, but it has to be said…

“A blog is only FINANCIALLY VIABLE if you attract a large enough audience to derive a profit. If no one reads your blog, no one buys your products.”

Your First 1,000 Readers

With a solid following of 1,000 readers per day you can have a successful — and PROFITABLE — blog.

However, the fact is, at the beginning when you first start your blog, nobody knows it exists.

This is when things are hardest, and I know what it feels like — I’ve started many websites over the years and I know how lonely it is to begin with.

Do You Know How To “Market” Your Blog?

When I first started my blog, I already had experience running Internet businesses. As I found out, a blog is a little bit different.

I was writing regular content to my website and I knew that I had to go out there and do some marketing to bring attention to my blog, but I wasn’t really sure exactly which are the best techniques to use.

I did some research and quickly discovered that the challenge is not in finding techniques to grow your blog and build traffic – it’s figuring out which ones actually work!

I found myself overloaded with too much information on how to drive traffic to my blog – from pay per click advertising, banner advertising, article marketing, search engine marketing, video marketing, social media marketing and on and on and on…

What Are The Most Important Elements When It Comes To Traffic?

One thing I’m good at is taking action and I knew that was the best way to solve my too much information problem.

Since I had little money at the time I decided to focus only on free methods to grow my blog traffic.

I knew Google could be the answer if I learned how to optimize my blog for search engines, because organic traffic from search engines is free traffic.

After spending quite a bit of time testing different techniques to get traffic from Google, including many that didn’t work, and some that only worked temporarily, I eventually learned what I believe are the most important elements.

This turned out to be the first major breakthrough in my blog traffic…

Adding Links to Your Website. Will They Add Value?

Putting links on your site to other sites is so important if you want to get more traffic to your site. You can exchange links with sites which are similar to yours or sites you have affinity with.

The more links you have on your site the more chance you have to attract traffic you may not have gotten any other way. If you have your link on someone else’s site and they have tons of traffic, the chances of your link being clicked on increases.

Internet marketing can be very successful and it is even more so if you are getting traffic from other peoples’ websites. As an example, let’s just say that you have a website on dog grooming. You could then search for other websites which promote dog training, dog food diets, diseases in dogs etc. etc. You get the picture!

Your task then is to contact these sites and ask if they will do a link exchange with you. Not only will it benefit you but the people who own those other websites also. This is a win win situation for everyone. You can also promote the other sites by writing articles about what they have to offer which means that not only is there a link in the resource box to their site but another link back to you.

Links are so important in increasing your profile to so many different resources and it will add a different dimension to your articles. It will also give you different ideas for your articles. Get as many links as you can on your site.

Will Adding An Instructional Audio or Video Increase Traffic?

Practically every site you go to now has either audio or video to entice you to check out their products. This can not only be a great way to promote what you have, but if you are using video then you’ll be able to show your products too.

I’m a very “touchy feely” person so I like to see what I’m getting and how it’s being used. For instance, if they are selling a software package but only supplying a how-to manual, then forget it. I cannot read a manual of any sort. The only way for me to learn is to be shown.

Audios are great when you want to say something about a product or service, but to really learn how to use the product you need to watch a video.

There are many services on the internet where you can download audio recording software, which will also tell you how to edit it before you add it to your website. I’m not going to promote any one in particular because there are plenty to choose from. If you type “audio recording software” into Google, you’ll come up with over 6 million hits! I’m sure you can find something you can work with.

The same goes with video. The easiest way is to video something relevant to your site and then upload it for editing before you place it on your website. If you have any questions relating to how to do it, then submit your question to Google and you’ll be sure to find an answer.

You can also use video as a teaching tool where students are shown how to implement ideas by filming your own screen and showing them step by step. This is really great, for example, if your student wants to load images onto their site but don’t know how to do it. You can record and instructional video and have it loaded onto your website within 10-15 minutes.

Adding audio or video (or both) to your website can only be seen as an enhancement and is another great way to promote your products.

A Review: Simple Traffic Solutions

Simple Traffic Solutions is a traffic generation product created by John Thornhill. What makes this product stand out from the thousands of traffic generation products out there  is none of his methods involve Google.

This is because a few years ago John logged into his Google AdWords account to find out he had been banned from running ads. This is a very common issue with anyone in the IM niche. Google can afford to be selective with their ad program as they have huge corporations pumping billions of dollars into their bank accounts.

Another popular traffic teaching tactic is SEO. This involves trying to learn complex methods such as title tags, meta tags, heading tags, alt attributes, sitemaps, link building, algorithms, keyword research, page optimization and content creation. To make matters worse, you could spend months getting your site to to top of Google’s search results only to see them change their algorithm and your site disappears overnight. I’m sure you’ve heard of the recent Panda and Penguin updates that literally destroyed businesses overnight.

This is why John said “screw you Google” and decided to come up with traffic methods that didn’t involve them at all. He studied other traditional traffic generation techniques and improved them, tweaked them and perfected them. The result is that in the last year his websites have received over 2 billion hits from 20 different traffic generation methods. Yes, you read that correctly, OVER 2 BILLION HITS, and it didn’t cost him one cent.

And the good news is John shares how he generated every single click in his latest product, Simple Traffic Solutions. A step by step traffic generation program that can help you get all the traffic you need to your websites.

So what does Simple Traffic Solutions consist of?

Well, where do I start, John has covered all he knows about traffic generation in over 50 modules. Each traffic module consists of theory training, practical training and has a checklist so you can work your way through each method step by step. John has also created each module in multiple formats so you can watch the videos on your iPad, iPhone or other digital device, as well as watch online.

I also love the way John gives each traffic method a rating of one to five stars, this shows you what methods work best for him and what methods don’t work so well. This is something I have never seen before.

While some of the traffic methods appear a little basic they are covered in great detail and John’s enthusiasm convinces you that traffic generation needn’t be a complex matter. In fact he openly shows you how he uses each traffic generation method, shows you how his methods work, and he really has you thinking ‘why bother with Google’.

There is also a ton of PDF material including a very well written eBook, a traffic generation mindmap and a collection of checklists that compliment the modules perfectly, this is worth the cost of the product alone.

All in all, and for the price, this is one of the most comprehensive traffic guides I have ever seen, and the fact John shows you how he implements each method shows you he is genuine. He has put a lot of work into this and it shows.

In fact the only downside I can think of is the price is so low you think what’s the catch? Well John does hit you with an offer of coaching but this is not required to make his traffic methods work.

So for only $7.95 you can get one of the most comprehensive traffic guides I have ever seen and I can highly recommend it, no matter what level of experience you have you will learn from this product.

To top it off he also gives you a 60 day money back guarantee, so this really is one of the best deals I have seen and I encourage you to check it out.

Choosing a Great Headline to Increase Traffic

We all know that a headline can really grab the attention of the readers, particularly if they searching for an answer to a certain topic. The headline is the first thing they see so you have to make sure that it “stands out from the crowd!”

On the average, five times as many people read the headline as read the body copy. When you have written your headline, you have spent eighty cents out of your dollar.  David Ogilvy

If a person is really struggling financially and looking for ways to get out of debt they may respond to a headline such as, “Do You Want To Get Out of Debt?” Of course they’ll open the article and read what you have to offer them. The problem is that sometimes the headline doesn’t correspond with the content, so make sure that you don’t mislead your potential clients.

A really powerful headline is one which immediately catches the reader’s attention so that they will keep reading, and this is where your skills as a writer will come in. If you can coax them to keep reading you are sure to be on a winner. Make your content just as intriguing as your headline so that they’ll be wanting more.

If you don’t know a lot about the subject you’ve chosen, do the research so that you get your facts straight. There’s nothing worse than reading an article and knowing that the information is incorrect. They are not likely to read any further articles from you if this is the case.

The headline is the most important part of your article, because if people don’t like it they won’t read any further and that is definitely not what you want. The content may be brilliant but the headline doesn’t reflect it.

Take your time the next time you write an article to make the headline “grab” the reader’s attention. You’ll be glad you did!
