Where to Find Affiliate Products

A lot of people, especially newbies, don’t know where to look for affiliate products to promote, so I am going to list a few sites to look at and review their procedures and ease of use.

  • ClickBank:  Clickbank is probably one of the easiest sites to find products to promote. Go to www.clickbank.com home page and either sign up straight away or click on the tab Marketplace which is top right. On the left-hand side you’ll see a list of categories which you can click on to open up, or go to the search bar under “Find Products” and type in your niche. I’m going to click on the tabs to the left and I’ll choose E-Business & E-Marketing for this example. I’ve scrolled down and clicked on “Paid Surveys” and chosen the top listing. When you choose a product click on “Promote” and you will be asked for your Account Nickname so this is why you need to have an opened account.

Review:  Of all the affiliate sites offering products to promote, this is one of my favorites. It’s so easy to sign                 up, find a product then given a code to add to your website. Many of the sites also add affiliate tools. There is               no waiting to be approved.

  • CJ Affiliate:  was formerly known as Commission Junction and is different in its setup. Before you can look at products you must sign up first by going to www.cj.com  Once completed you’ll be taken to the “home” page and click on “Advertisers” and a list of all will appear. You can also search using a keyword to find a product. Once you have a product selected you will have to state what you will be doing to promote it and give details such as the URL of your website. You will then have to wait for a couple of days for approval.

Review:  Although they have great products listed, I find the website difficult to navigate and only through                 clicking on different tabs did I eventually find the products I was looking for. Then I had to wait 3 days for the             approval to come through.

  • JVZoo:  Like CJ Affiliate, you need to wait for approval before you can promote products. You can also check out their products before signing up by clicking on “Marketplace”.  This will show you the many categories to choose from. Go to www.jvzoo.com to sign up. Once logged in click on the “Affiliates” tab to find a product to suit your niche.

Review:  Very simple site to navigate with a large array of products in all categories available. Many come with their own Sales Funnel set up. As in the previous site you do have to send a request but you generally have an answer back within 24 hours.

  • Shareasale:  You can take a quick tour of this site before signing up at www.shareasale.com  Once again they have plenty of products to choose from by clicking on the “Merchants” tab and choose the “Category” to find a suitable product.

Review:  As with CJ Affiliate I had to give details of how I was going to promote their products and the website I’d be using. I had to wait 3 days for approval.

That’s just a sample of the many affiliate sites available. Check them out yourself and decide whether or not to use them. You can also go to Google and type in eg. “paid surveys affiliate” and you will see quite a number of sites listed.

How to Promote Affiliate Products

If you want to add affiliate products to your website, then you are going to have to promote them for them to sell. Writing a series of articles is one of the best ways. The only way others are going to know about your product is by getting the word out.

Write everything you know about the subject matter eg. weight loss program. There are so many topics to write about for this subject and you will be able to research a lot of material to use in your articles. An example of some titles could be:

• What does BMI(Body Mass Index) mean?
• How do I get rid of a flabby belly?
• Getting rid of love handles
• Diet and nutrition program
• What exercise program should I choose?
• Strength training for weight loss
• Maintaining my weight loss

These are just a few ideas but there are so many more. There is always something to write about each title and in fact you could write one article and then re-write it two to three times. This will give you plenty of articles to submit to article directories and you will gradually gain a reputation as being an expert in your field.

If you are stuck for information, search on the internet and you may find that there is so much more there than you thought. Did you know that there are over 81 million listings in Google for “weight loss programs?” You will never be short of information on your niche product.

One piece of advice though. Don’t copy your content from other articles. Read through a few articles and then put it into your own words. Remember that the more you promote your affiliate product through articles, the more likely you are able to sell it. I’d recommend you write at least one article per day to achieve search engine optimization.

Writing an article about an affiliate product, and then submitting it to article directories is one of the quickest and easiest ways to promote your products, and it doesn’t cost you anything but time!

How to Choose the Right Affiliate Product for Your Niche

Finding a new affiliate product to promote can be quite daunting and may take some time to research it properly. The first question most people ask is, “Where do I start?” The logical answer is, “At the beginning!”
This makes absolutely no sense at all and could have you searching in areas which will not be helpful. To help you get started on your quest here’s just a few ideas.

Choose your topic – let’s choose “golf” as an example so that I can show you how to niche it down until you have found the right product for you to promote. Golf has many different ingredients so finding the right mix can be profitable for you.

Do your research – if you type “golf” into Google, you will get over 1.3 billion results! This is obviously a huge market and not worth pursuing the generic term. Try changing the term to “golf clubs, golf balls, golf swing” etc. to narrow your search. Type in “golf clubs” and you get over 57 million results. Much better but far too high. If you search the Google Adwords: Keyword Planner, you’ll see a number of listings come up. Search for “golf clubs” and another list of results show.  From the list I’ve chosen “Nike golf shoes” which has just over 22,000 searches per month. This is the product you need to promote. Find as much information as you can about these shoes to use as content on your website.

Choosing your affiliate product – because of the lower results in the search term “Nike golf shoes” you have more chance of being found in the searches providing the content is compelling and the keywords are appropriate. Look for an affiliate product which is relevant to your article or website, such as learning how to swing a golf club properly, and you have found your product to promote. You could even promote products such as golf balls and golf buggies and many more items.

The key to finding the right product to promote is in the research so the more you do the more likely you are to finding the right product for your particular niche.

3 Common Mistakes in Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is one of the most effective and powerful ways of earning some money online. This program gives everybody a chance to make a profit through the Internet. Since affiliate marketing programs are easy to join, implement and pays a commission on a regular basis, more and more people are joining this business.

However, like all businesses, there are lots of pitfalls in the affiliate marketing business. Committing some of the most common mistakes will cost the marketers a large portion of the profits they make everyday. That is why it is better to avoid them before starting with an affiliate marketing program.

Mistake number 1: Choosing the wrong affiliate product

Many people want to earn from affiliate marketing as fast as possible. In their rush to be part of one, they tend to choose a bandwagon product. This is the kind of product that the program thinks is “hot”. They choose the product that is in demand without actually considering if the product appeals to them. This is not a very wise move obviously.

Instead of jumping on the bandwagon, try top choose a product in which you are truly interested. For any endeavor to succeed, you should take some time to plan and figure out your actions.

Pick a product that appeals to you. Then do some research about that product to see if it is in demand. Promoting a product you are more passionate about is easier than promoting one for the sake of the earnings only.

Mistake number 2: Joining too many affiliate programs

Since affiliate programs are very easy to join, you might be tempted to join multiple affiliate programs to try and maximize the earnings you will be getting. Besides you may think that there is nothing wrong and nothing to lose by being part of many affiliate programs.

True, that is a great way to have multiple sources of income. However, joining multiple programs and attempting to promote them all at the same time will prevent you from concentrating on each one of them.

The result? The maximum potential of your affiliate program is not realized and the income generated will not exactly be as big as you were thinking initially. The best way to get excellent results is by joining just one program that pays a 40% commission at least. Then give it your best effort by promoting your products enthusiastically. As soon as you see that it is already making a reasonable profit, then maybe you can join another affiliate program.

The technique is to do it slowly but surely. There is really no need to rush into things, especially with affiliate marketing. With the way things are going, it looks as though affiliate marketing will be staying around for the long term.

Mistake number 3: Not buying the product or using the service

As an affiliate, your main purpose is to effectively and convincingly promote a product or service and to find customers. For you to achieve this purpose, you must be able to relay to the customer information about that product or service. It is therefore difficult for you to do this when you yourself have not tried these things out. Thus, you will fail to promote and recommend them convincingly. You will also fail to create a desire in your customers to avail any of what you are offering.

Try the product or service personally first before you sign up as an affiliate to see if it is really delivering what it promises. If you have done so, then you are one of the credible and living testaments aware of its advantages and disadvantages. Your customers will then feel the sincerity and truthfulness in you and this will trigger them to try it out for themselves.

Many affiliate marketers make these mistakes and are paying dearly for their actions. To not fall into the same situation they have been in, try to do everything to avoid doing the same.

Time is the key. Take the time to analyze your marketing strategy and check if you are on the right track. If done properly, you will be able to maximize your affiliate marketing program and earn higher profits.

What Does An Affiliate Marketer Do In a Day?

Being in the affiliate marketing business is not that hard now with the internet at your disposable. It is much easier now compared to the days when people had to make use of the phones and other mediums of information just to get the latest updates on the way their program was coming along.

So with technology at hand, and assuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this…

Upon waking up and after having breakfast, the computer is turned on to check out new developments in the network. As far as the marketer is concerned there might be new things to update and statistics to keep track on.

The site design has to be revised. The marketer knows that a well-designed site can increase sign ups from visitors. It can also help in the affiliate’s conversion rates.

That done, it is time to submit the affiliate program to directories that lists affiliate programs. These directories are means to attract people in joining your affiliate program. A sure way of promoting the affiliate program.

Time to track down the sales you are getting from your affiliates fairly and accurately. See if there are new clients checking the products out. Noting down the contact information might be a viable source in the future.

There are lots of resources to sort out such as ads, banners, emails etc. Best to stay visible and accessible too.

In the process of doing all the necessities, the marketer is constantly checking forums and social media to see how others are promoting similar products.

There are things to be learned and it is a continuous process. Sharing tips and advice is a good way of showing support. There may be others out there wanting to join and may be enticed by the discussion that is going on.

The newsletters and ezines were updated days ago, so it is time for the affiliate marketer to see if there are some new things happening in the market. This will be written about in the marketer’s publications to be distributed to old and new customers.

These same publications are also an important tool in keeping your customers up to date with newly introduced products that the marketer has added and can be used as an upsell. Some marketers are very prolific in adding new products to their stable.

Two objectives are achieved at the same time. The marketer gets to promote the product as well as the program they are in. Who knows, someone may be inclined to join.

Ok, so this may not be all done in a day. But then this gives you an idea of how an affiliate marketer, a dedicated one that is, spends the marketing day.

Is that success looming in the distance or what?

Affiliate Products are Easy to Promote

Whenever you talk to an Internet Marketer, the one thing they will nearly all agree on is that you must add affiliate marketing to your website. Have you ever wondered why it has become so popular?

The answer is that it is so easy to do and there are many ways to find affiliate products. It also means that you don’t have to do anything but put a banner or link onto your site and then promote it. You don’t have to worry about handling a physical product. So how do you find the right product for you to promote?

There are many great sites which list affiliate products only but you can also find products just by doing a search in your web browser. If you were looking for affiliate products for dogs, just type in “dog affiliates” and you’ll find that over 7 million listings show up. There should be something there for you to choose from!

To get the most out of your affiliate product it’s advisable to choose a product similar to what you are promoting on your website. As an example, if you are selling dog accessories you can look for products such as books about dogs, dog training, dog food etc. The list is endless once you start looking.

Put the banner or link for your affiliate product in a prominent position such as in the header or sidebar so that customers clicking onto your site will see it immediately. You could also use pop-ups as an alternative.

If you are promoting more than one product try to place them all in the same area on your website and add a “links” or “products” tab to your menu bar so that they can be found easily.

Write articles about your affiliate products making sure that you link back to the product or your website. If you write a great article then your potential customers will want to see what else you have to offer on your website. There are many ways to promote your products and paying for Solo ads may be one way to do that.

Promoting affiliate products does work and it’s something you should try. It doesn’t cost anything and you may find yourself promoting a very lucrative product.

Promoting Other Affiliate Products

If you want to do internet marketing but have no idea where or how to start, then why not consider affiliate marketing? With affiliate marketing you can choose any product or service to promote and all the sales tools are provided.

There are literally hundreds of products to choose from and some of the most popular sites to look for products are ClickBank, JV Zoo, Commission Junction and ClixGalore just to name a few. You can also choose a particular product such as “dog training” and search for “dog training affiliate”. Over 2 million listings come up for that search term, so there is no reason why you cannot find something to promote.

You don’t even have to promote a product, it can be a service which is why the creator of that service wants potential clients to know about. This is called leverage. Why promote a product on your own when you can get hundreds or even thousands of people to do it for you? It is one of the best ways to launch a new product.

The best thing about promoting other people’s products is that you are rewarded for your efforts if you sell a product, and the majority of products are downloaded so you can sell as many as you want. It makes it so easy for you because you don’t have to handle physical products which can take up a lot of room.

With affiliate products you don’t need a website. Choose a domain name which reflects the product, write a simple squeeze page and add the link which goes direct to the salesletter. All the hard work has been done for you. You can use this method many times and all you need is a domain name.

You may however, choose to have your own website and promote affiliate products which relate closely to your website. For example, if we go back to “dog training”, you could choose affiliate products such as dog grooming, diseases which affect dogs, dog toys and products. There are endless subjects about dogs. Just do a search for “dogs” and you’ll see what I mean.

Affiliate marketing is definitely one of the easiest ways to get started on the internet. You have the product, the salesletter, banners, ads, emails already set out for you with many of these products. And the best part of all…you get paid every time one of their products sell! Why wouldn’t you want to do it too?

3 Things You Should Know About Affiliate Marketing

Every affiliate marketer is always looking for the successful market that gives the biggest paycheck. Sometimes they think it is a magic formula that is readily available for them. Actually, it is more complicated than that. It is just good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication.

There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and are continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to able to increase your sales and survive in the affiliate marketing industry.

What are these three tactics?

1. Using unique web pages/squeeze pages to promote each separate product you are marketing. Do not lump all of it together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.

Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do to those who buys them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.

You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information. Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.

2. Offer free reports to your readers. If possible position them at the very top side of your page so they simply cannot be missed. Create autoresponder messages which will be emailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.

Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never returning again. By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified period, you will remind them of the product they thought they want later and will find out that the sale is closed. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.

Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. Convince those who signed up for your free report that they will be missing something big if they do not avail of your products and services.

3. Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product. Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in ezines and article submission sites. This way you can locate publications focusing on your target customers, and what you have offered might just grab their interest.

Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day. Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can make approximately 10 sales based on the average statistics.

Try to use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You can end up maintaining a good source of income and surviving in a business that not all marketers can do.

Besides, think of the huge paychecks you will be receiving…
