How to Start Writing an Article

I’ve been asked before how I started writing articles when I had no idea how and where to start. This is a problem a lot of people have because they’ve never done any writing before.

I have a few tips to get you started.

  • Start with a hobby or particular topic you’re interested in to get you started. I started writing about my family history because it was something I knew about and I didn’t have to do any research. Once I started writing I couldn’t stop and before I knew it I’d written 3 pages! I was absolutely amazed.
  • Because my story was written as a timeline of events, I already had the structure for the article. If you find it difficult to start at a certain point, write down a few headings first, put them into some sort of order and then expand on those headings.
  • To make the writing easier for you, you can add bullet points, and you may find that those points will jog your memory allowing you to fill in the blanks.
  • Try to write in a conversational style so that you can keep your reader’s interest. If you add a lot of technical jargon you can quite quickly lose your audience.
  • Once you’ve written the article don’t be too picky about how it’s been written. You may make spelling mistakes or grammatical errors but this is bound to happen with your very first article. Don’t be too hard on yourself!
  • Any errors can be corrected once the article is completed.

Feel proud of yourself knowing that you wrote it yourself without asking for help.

Once you relax about writing articles you may find that you really enjoy it and want to take it more seriously by submitting them to article directories, magazines etc.

Write an article today and see how you go.

Will You Be the Next Successful Entrepreneur?

I’ve often wondered what you’d have to do to become “rich and successful”, and my observation is that you either have to work very hard to get where you want to be, or be suddenly discovered as the next great model or actor, or win Lotto!

People like Bill Gates, Donald Trump and Warren Buffet didn’t become “rich and successful” overnight. They had to work extremely hard and had to spend long hours honing their businesses. To them their business is their life and they put all their energies into making it successful.

Being discovered as the next top model on the other hand doesn’t seem to take as much effort. If you’ve got the right look at the right time, then promoting yourself will be taken care of by the agency which signed you up. Spending a few days at a time on a photo shoot, or strutting your stuff on a catwalk, doesn’t even come close to the hard work put in by entrepreneurs.

If you are discovered as the next big actor, you spend a minimum of 2-3 months a year filming a movie, and once it’s completed you have the terrible task of going around the world to promote it! Many of us would like to think that we could be the next big movie star, but it takes talent and perseverance to make it.

If you want to be the next person to become “rich and successful” by winning Lotto, don’t waste your time. It may never happen.

Maybe you’ve got an idea for a great project but are fearful that it won’t work. Are you willing to step out of your comfort zone and risk taking the chance that it may actually work? What if it does fail?

Napoleon Hill said, “Before success comes in any man’s life, he’s sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps some failures. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and the most logical thing to do is to quit. That’s exactly what the majority of men do”.

Will you quit too or will you work hard and strive to be the next “rich and successful” entrepreneur?

mistakes

3 Common Mistakes in Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is one of the most effective and powerful ways of earning some money online. This program gives everybody a chance to make a profit through the Internet. Since affiliate marketing programs are easy to join, implement and pays a commission on a regular basis, more and more people are joining this business.

However, like all businesses, there are lots of pitfalls in the affiliate marketing business. Committing some of the most common mistakes will cost the marketers a large portion of the profits they make everyday. That is why it is better to avoid them before starting with an affiliate marketing program.

Mistake number 1: Choosing the wrong affiliate product

Many people want to earn from affiliate marketing as fast as possible. In their rush to be part of one, they tend to choose a bandwagon product. This is the kind of product that the program thinks is “hot”. They choose the product that is in demand without actually considering if the product appeals to them. This is not a very wise move obviously.

Instead of jumping on the bandwagon, try top choose a product in which you are truly interested. For any endeavor to succeed, you should take some time to plan and figure out your actions.

Pick a product that appeals to you. Then do some research about that product to see if it is in demand. Promoting a product you are more passionate about is easier than promoting one for the sake of the earnings only.

Mistake number 2: Joining too many affiliate programs

Since affiliate programs are very easy to join, you might be tempted to join multiple affiliate programs to try and maximize the earnings you will be getting. Besides you may think that there is nothing wrong and nothing to lose by being part of many affiliate programs.

True, that is a great way to have multiple sources of income. However, joining multiple programs and attempting to promote them all at the same time will prevent you from concentrating on each one of them.

The result? The maximum potential of your affiliate program is not realized and the income generated will not exactly be as big as you were thinking initially. The best way to get excellent results is by joining just one program that pays a 40% commission at least. Then give it your best effort by promoting your products enthusiastically. As soon as you see that it is already making a reasonable profit, then maybe you can join another affiliate program.

The technique is to do it slowly but surely. There is really no need to rush into things, especially with affiliate marketing. With the way things are going, it looks as though affiliate marketing will be staying around for the long term.

Mistake number 3: Not buying the product or using the service

As an affiliate, your main purpose is to effectively and convincingly promote a product or service and to find customers. For you to achieve this purpose, you must be able to relay to the customer information about that product or service. It is therefore difficult for you to do this when you yourself have not tried these things out. Thus, you will fail to promote and recommend them convincingly. You will also fail to create a desire in your customers to avail any of what you are offering.

Try the product or service personally first before you sign up as an affiliate to see if it is really delivering what it promises. If you have done so, then you are one of the credible and living testaments aware of its advantages and disadvantages. Your customers will then feel the sincerity and truthfulness in you and this will trigger them to try it out for themselves.

Many affiliate marketers make these mistakes and are paying dearly for their actions. To not fall into the same situation they have been in, try to do everything to avoid doing the same.

Time is the key. Take the time to analyze your marketing strategy and check if you are on the right track. If done properly, you will be able to maximize your affiliate marketing program and earn higher profits.

donkey

Shake It Off and Step Up!

One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out a way to get him out. Finally he decided it was probably impossible and the animal was old and the well was dry anyway, so it just wasn’t worth it to try and retrieve the donkey. So the farmer asked his neighbours to come over and help him cover up the well. They all grabbed shovels and began to shovel dirt into the well.

At first, when the donkey realized what was happening he cried horribly. Then, to everyone’s amazement, he quieted down and let out some happy brays. A few shovel loads later, the farmer looked down the well to see what was happening and was astonished at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was shaking it off and taking a step up.

As the farmer’s neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he continued to shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, to everyone’s amazement, the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off.

The moral of this tale is: Life is going to shovel dirt on you. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Through applying wisdom every adversity can be turned into a stepping stone. The way to get out of the deepest well is by never giving up but by shaking yourself off and taking a step up.

The moral is what happens to you isn’t nearly as important as how you react to it.

How to Make Money Using Private Label Rights Material

What are private label rights? These are rights that a person gains to a particular product.

One might wonder at the difference between private label rights and product resell rights. With product resell rights, a person obtains the right to resell the product as is, without changing its form, design or name.

On the other hand, if you have a private label right to a particular product, you would gain the right to modify or change an original product, create your own specifications, apply modifications then claim it as your own original product.

Ebooks, software, articles and other written, raw material are just some examples of products where you can obtain private label rights.

Take an ebook for example. If an author of an ebook would give you private label rights about “Internet Technology”, you can modify the content to tackle the latest developments about this ever-changing technology.

You can add features and create helpful sub-topics that would best fit the current trends in internet technology.

After the modifications, you can claim rights to the ebook that you modified.

‘New versus modified’

In a basic business course, you are taught to develop an original product which will “sell” to a particular market.

You have learned that an original design and functionality will pave the way towards introducing a great new invention in the market. However, developing and manufacturing your own product is quite a tedious process. The good thing is that once you have an output, you can profit from your original product by several ways.

First, you can sell the rights for business owners to resell your products without any modifications whatsoever. You can also build a web site for your product and get other related web sites to advertise your products for you.

Once you find that your product is not anymore at par with the current technological standards and it does not meet the consumer’s needs, then you can modify it.

The resulting product with the new modifications will again earn you the rights to resell that new product. The possibilities are endless once you have developed a product of your own.

Now, take a look at the advantages of a modified product as a result of gaining private label rights.

First, this is the easiest way to build a business if you do not have the time to develop your own product. Gaining private label rights would make it “legal” for you to re-use an original product content without having to worry about infringements on intellectual property rights. This principle mostly applies to written and electronic material such as ebooks, articles, even source codes.

Second, you can use your creativity to modify an existing product and make it your own. If you put together ten articles about a common theme, modify them a bit to come up with one basic idea, you would have a resulting product which is more comprehensive than the original material. This is better as compared to just combining two articles with the same idea and packaging them individually.

You can also use an original material or text and use the private label rights that you obtained to develop a web site about the same topic. There are hundreds of possibilities about how you can earn money with the use of private label rights. Affiliate sites and other web sites offering private label rights would make modifications seem effortless.

With a little creativity, resourcefulness and effort, you can earn hundreds of dollars by using private label rights to come up with original products that you can distribute to your target market.

With this, the difficulties of conceptualizing and manufacturing an original product will be eliminated, yet yield almost the same results when it comes to profit.

howmuch

How Much Do You Sell Your eBook For?

You’ve written and compiled an ebook. Now you have to decide how much to charge for it. Finding the right price is essential to the success of your product. If you charge too little, people will think it’s of little value, and they won’t purchase it, or even it they do buy your book, you will have to sell thousands of copies to get to the point where you can begin to see a profit. If you price it too high when compared with your competition, you will find yourself steadily
lowering the price, which will cause you all kinds of new problems in the future. For example, if you sell your ebook at first for $39.99, and later reduce it to $24.95, don’t you think the people who bought it for $39.99 are going to be just a little bit upset?

Choosing the right price for your ebook is one of the most critical parts of the marketing process. The first rule of pricing ebooks is to never underprice. Determine the highest price your audience can afford, and then if you find your book isn’t selling, you can always reduce the price. Before you take that step, make sure you are promoting your book like crazy on the Internet and on websites. The price should be aimed at bringing in profits, but you should never forget that price is one of the factors that people use in judging the value of your ebook before they buy it. So always start with the highest price, and then launch a mega-marketing campaign.

Let’s look at the difference between a book in print and an ebook. A printed book is an object you can hold in your hand, store on your bookshelf, even hand down to the next generation. It is priced on factors such as paper stock, design and production costs, and marketing.

But the fact that unites ebooks and print books is that they are composed of ideas. It is the ideas in these books that have the ability to change, or possibly transform, people’s lives.

What do you think an idea is worth when evaluated against the cost of paper and ink?

It is the IDEAS that are valuable! That is how you determine the cost of your ebook.

What should I charge for my ideas?

There are all different formulas and methods for determining the correct price for your ebook. Let’s begin with honing in on your ultimate goals.

Decide if your goal is to get wide distribution and maximum exposure. This goal is aimed at drawing customers to your business or service, or to establishing the credibility of your reputation. If this is your main goal, you should aim to keep your price on the low side. Some authors have even priced their ebooks at a loss to draw a high number of new customers. The key is to find a price that maximizes your profits and the number of books you sell.

This is an excellent pricing strategy if you are looking to acquire long-term customers. Long-term customers are extremely likely to buy from you again and again as long as the first ebook they buy is of exceptional quality and beneficial to the customer.

However, if your book contains valuable and more importantly NEW information, references, or techniques, then you should aim to price it on the high end.

After you figure out your goal, you must figure out what your audience’s need is for your ebook. For example, does your book solve a particular problem? If it does, and solves it in a way that hasn’t been written about in one hundred other ebooks, you will be able to achieve high sales at a high price. If your book solves a problem or answers questions in a new and unique way, you should price your book as high as you can go. You will achieve larger profits this way, but bring in fewer customers. Just make sure the question or problem that your book solves is one that
is important and relevant to the majority of your market audience. If your ideas are not common knowledge, or you are presenting a brand new technique, you will be able to sell books at a high price. Just be prepared for your competition to undercut you on price as soon as they hear about your book.

Keep in mind that the above pricing strategy is temporary. Eventually, you will cease to sell books at this high price. So figure out in advance how long you plan to offer your ebook at this high price, and when that time is up, change your pricing strategy.

If you want to see large profits over customer draw, aim for an audience that is looking for easy solutions to their problems at a low price. If your book is aimed at solving one particular problem rather than general advice, then you can charge more. Start at the highest price the market will bear to bring in the largest profits, and plan to discount the book a number of times throughout the year.

How to Analyze Your Website Traffic

Analyzing your web traffic statistics can be an invaluable tool for a number of different reasons. But before you can
make full use of this tool, you need to understand how to interpret the data.

Most web hosting companies will provide you with basic web traffic information that you then have to interpret and
make pertinent use of. However, the data you receive from your host company can be overwhelming if you don’t
understand how to apply it to your particular business and website. Let’s start by examining the most basic data – the
average visitors to your site on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

These figures are the most accurate measure of your website’s activity. It would appear on the surface that the
more traffic you see recorded, the better you can assume your website is doing, but this is an inaccurate
perception. You must also look at the behavior of your visitors once they come to your website to accurately gauge
the effectiveness of your site.

There is often a great misconception about what is commonly known as “hits” and what is really effective, quality
traffic to your site. Hits simply means the number of information requests received by the server. If you think
about the fact that a hit can simply equate to the number of graphics per page, you will get an idea of how overblown
the concept of hits can be. For example, if your homepage has 15 graphics on it, the server records this as 15 hits,
when in reality we are talking about a single visitor checking out a single page on your site. As you can see,
hits are not useful in analyzing your website traffic.

The more visitors that come to your website, the more accurate your interpretation will become. The greater the
traffic is to your website, the more precise your analysis will be of overall trends in visitor behavior. The smaller
the number of visitors, the more a few anomalous visitors can distort the analysis.

The aim is to use the web traffic statistics to figure out how well or how poorly your site is working for your
visitors. One way to determine this is to find out how long on average your visitors spend on your site. If the time
spent is relatively brief, it usually indicates an underlying problem. Then the challenge is to figure out
what that problem is.

It could be that your keywords are directing the wrong type of visitors to your website, or that your graphics are
confusing or intimidating, causing the visitor to exit rapidly. Use the knowledge of how much time visitors are
spending on your site to pinpoint specific problems, and after you fix those problems, continue to use time spent as
a gauge of how effective your fix has been.

Additionally, web traffic stats can help you determine effective and ineffective areas of your website. If you
have a page that you believe is important, but visitors are exiting it rapidly, that page needs attention. You could,
for example, consider improving the link to this page by making the link more noticeable and enticing, or you could
improve the look of the page or the ease that your visitors can access the necessary information on that page.

If, on the other hand, you notice that visitors are spending a lot of time on pages that you think are less
important, you might consider moving some of your sales copy and marketing focus to that particular page.

As you can see, these statistics will reveal vital information about the effectiveness of individual pages,
and visitor habits and motivation. This is essential information to any successful Internet marketing campaign.

Your website undoubtedly has exit pages, such as a final order or contact form. This is a page you can expect your
visitor to exit rapidly. However, not every visitor to your site is going to find exactly what he or she is looking
for, so statistics may show you a number of different exit pages. This is normal unless you notice a exit trend on a
particular page that is not intended as an exit page. In the case that a significant percentage of visitors are
exiting your website on a page not designed for that purpose, you must closely examine that particular page to
discern what the problem is. Once you pinpoint potential weaknesses on that page, minor modifications in content or graphic may have a significant impact on the keeping visitors moving through your site instead of exiting at the
wrong page.

After you have analyzed your visitor statistics, it’s time to turn to your keywords and phrases. Notice if particular
keywords are directing a specific type of visitor to your site. The more targeted the visitor – meaning that they
find what they are looking for on your site, and even better, fill out your contact form or make a purchase – the
more valuable that keyword is.

However, if you find a large number of visitors are being directed – or should I say misdirected – to your site by a
particular keyword or phrase, that keyword demands adjustment. Keywords are vital to bringing quality visitors
to your site who are ready to do business with you. Close analysis of the keywords your visitors are using to find
your site will give you a vital understanding of your visitor’s needs and motivations.

Finally, if you notice that users are finding your website by typing in your company name, break open the champagne! It means you have achieved a significant level of brand recognition, and this is a sure sign of burgeoning success.

What Does An Affiliate Marketer Do In a Day?

Being in the affiliate marketing business is not that hard now with the internet at your disposable. It is much easier now compared to the days when people had to make use of the phones and other mediums of information just to get the latest updates on the way their program was coming along.

So with technology at hand, and assuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this…

Upon waking up and after having breakfast, the computer is turned on to check out new developments in the network. As far as the marketer is concerned there might be new things to update and statistics to keep track on.

The site design has to be revised. The marketer knows that a well-designed site can increase sign ups from visitors. It can also help in the affiliate’s conversion rates.

That done, it is time to submit the affiliate program to directories that lists affiliate programs. These directories are means to attract people in joining your affiliate program. A sure way of promoting the affiliate program.

Time to track down the sales you are getting from your affiliates fairly and accurately. See if there are new clients checking the products out. Noting down the contact information might be a viable source in the future.

There are lots of resources to sort out such as ads, banners, emails etc. Best to stay visible and accessible too.

In the process of doing all the necessities, the marketer is constantly checking forums and social media to see how others are promoting similar products.

There are things to be learned and it is a continuous process. Sharing tips and advice is a good way of showing support. There may be others out there wanting to join and may be enticed by the discussion that is going on.

The newsletters and ezines were updated days ago, so it is time for the affiliate marketer to see if there are some new things happening in the market. This will be written about in the marketer’s publications to be distributed to old and new customers.

These same publications are also an important tool in keeping your customers up to date with newly introduced products that the marketer has added and can be used as an upsell. Some marketers are very prolific in adding new products to their stable.

Two objectives are achieved at the same time. The marketer gets to promote the product as well as the program they are in. Who knows, someone may be inclined to join.

Ok, so this may not be all done in a day. But then this gives you an idea of how an affiliate marketer, a dedicated one that is, spends the marketing day.

Is that success looming in the distance or what?

Why Write an eBook?

It’s not true that everything that has been said has already been written. Since that unfortunate axiom came into use, the whole universe has changed. Technology has changed, ideas have changed, and the mindsets of entire nations have changed.

The fact is that this is the perfect time to write an ebook. What the publishing industry needs are people who can tap into the world as it is today – innovative thinkers who can make the leap into the new millennium and figure out how to solve old problems in a new way.

Ebooks are a powerful tool for original thinkers with fresh ideas to disseminate information to the millions of people who are struggling to figure out how to do a plethora of different things.

Let’s say you already have a brilliant idea, and the knowledge to back it up that will enable you to write an exceptional ebook. You may be sitting at your computer staring at a blank screen wondering, “Why?

Let’s say you already have an Internet business with a quality website and a quality product. An ebook is one of the most powerful ways to promote your business while educating people with the knowledge you already possess as a business owner of a specific product or service.

For example, let’s say that you’ve spent the last twenty-five years growing and training bonsai trees, and now you’re ready to share your knowledge and experience. An ebook is the perfect way to reach the largest audience of bonsai enthusiasts.

Ebooks will not only promote your business – they will help you make a name for yourself and your company, and establish you as an expert in your field. You may even find that you have enough to say to warrant a series of ebooks. Specific businesses are complicated and often require the different aspects to be divided in order for the reader to get the full story.

One of the most prevalent reasons people read ebooks is to find information about how to turn their Internet businesses into a profit-making machine. And these people are looking to the writers of ebooks to provide them with new ideas and strategies because writers of ebooks are usually people who understand the cyberspace world we now live in. Ebook writers are experts in Internet marketing campaigns and the strategies of promoting and distributing ebooks. The cyberspace community needs its ebooks to be successful so that more and more ebooks will be written.

You may want to create affiliate programs that will also market your ebook. Affiliates can be people or businesses worldwide that will all be working to sell your ebooks. Think about this? Do you see a formula for success here?

Figure out what your subject matter is, and then narrow it down. Your goal is to aim for specificity. Research what’s out there already, and try to find a void that your ebook might fill.

You don’t have to have three masters degrees to write about your subject. People need advice that is easy to read and easily understood. Parents need advice for dealing with their teenagers. The possibilities are endless.

After you’ve writtten your ebook

Getting your ebook out is going to be your focus once you’ve finished writing it, just as it is with print books. People will hesitate to buy any book from an author they’ve never heard of. Wouldn’t you?

The answer is simple: give it away! You will see profits in the form of promoting your own business and getting your name out. You will find affiliates who will ask you to place their links within your ebook, and these affiliates will in turn go out and make your name known. Almost every single famous ebook author has started out this way.

Another powerful tool to attract people to your ebook is to make it interactive. Invent something for them to do within the book rather than just producing pages that contain static text. Let your readers fill out questionnaires, forms, even crossword puzzles geared to testing their knowledge on a particular subject. Have your readers hit a link that will allow them to recommend your book to their friends and associates. Or include an actual order form so at the end of their reading journey, they can eagerly buy your product.

When people interact with books, they become a part of the world of that book. The fact is just as true for books in print as it is for ebooks.

That’s why ebooks are so essential. Not only do they provide a forum for people to learn and make sense of their own thoughts, but they can also serve to promote your business at the same time.

links

Adding Links to Your Website. Will They Add Value?

Putting links on your site to other sites is so important if you want to get more traffic to your site. You can exchange links with sites which are similar to yours or sites you have affinity with.

The more links you have on your site the more chance you have to attract traffic you may not have gotten any other way. If you have your link on someone else’s site and they have tons of traffic, the chances of your link being clicked on increases.

Internet marketing can be very successful and it is even more so if you are getting traffic from other peoples’ websites. As an example, let’s just say that you have a website on dog grooming. You could then search for other websites which promote dog training, dog food diets, diseases in dogs etc. etc. You get the picture!

Your task then is to contact these sites and ask if they will do a link exchange with you. Not only will it benefit you but the people who own those other websites also. This is a win win situation for everyone. You can also promote the other sites by writing articles about what they have to offer which means that not only is there a link in the resource box to their site but another link back to you.

Links are so important in increasing your profile to so many different resources and it will add a different dimension to your articles. It will also give you different ideas for your articles. Get as many links as you can on your site.
